Meet the C2BF Team
Nutritionist/Director of School Nutrition
Amanda Butler, M.A. CHES
Hello! My name is Amanda Butler and I’m the Nutritionist for the Commit to Be Fit program and the School Nutrition Director for RCPS. I attended Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!) for my B.S. of Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise and East Carolina University for my M.A. of Health Education and Promotion. The Commit to Be Fit program brought me to Rappahannock in the fall of 2016 and I’ve enjoyed every day working in this beautiful community. I’m happy to meet with C2BF members one-on-one to create healthy meal plans. Be sure to check out our nutrition tips, healthy recipes, cooking videos, and upcoming events!
I love running, watching Hokie football, and spending time outside with family, friends, and my golden retriever!
Wellness Integration Specialist/ PR & Digital Communications Officer
Holly Jenkins, CPT
Hi C2BF Family! First and foremost, I am grateful to be a part of this amazing program in the community that I have called home for the majority of my life. I am a graduate of the University of Virginia and have worked in the fitness industry for 11 years at a local gym as an Assistant General Manager and Director of several departments: personal training, group fitness, and Weight Right. Prior to falling in love with the fitness industry, I worked in the advertising/marketing field. I am both a Certified Personal Trainer and a Certified Health Coach (both through the American Council on Exercise). In addition, I hold several fitness/nutrition specialties: Master Fitness Trainer (National Federation of Professional Trainers), Youth Exercise Specialist (National Academy of Sports Medicine), Sports Conditioning Specialist (American Council on Exercise), and Fitness Nutrition Specialist (National Federation of Professional Trainers). Also, I am a certified Revo2lution Running Trainer (Run-Fit) and am certified to teach a variety of different group exercise programs and formats. Finally, I am currently working towards a master's degree in Health Education through the University of Alabama. My hobbies include learning/education (hence the multiple specialties and certs), running, water sports, and spending time with my 4 children. I feel extremely honored to be a part of each of your wellness journeys.
Fitness Motto: Make fitness FUN and the results will follow!
Jackie Tederick, M.Ed., CPT
Wellness Integration Coordinator/ Dean of Staff Relations & Health and Wellness
Hello! My name is Jackie Tederick. I am proud to be a Rappahannock County native. Upon graduating from Rappahannock County High School, I attended Radford University for my B.S. in Physical Education which allowed me to teach Physical Education for 17 years and coach volleyball for 13 years at my alma mater. The Commit to be Fit Program afforded me the privilege to move to the Wellness Integration Coordinator to pursue my passion for creating a positive difference in both adults and children in making healthy living fun. I am a Certified Personal Trainer. Along with being a Master Certified Health Coach, I am a Certified L.E.A.N. Health Coach in the belief that optimal health is achieved through a balanced approach to wellness in four areas: Lifestyle, Exercise, Attitude, and Nutrition (L.E.A.N.) - how we live, move, think, and eat.
My hobbies are spending time with my family, friends, and pets, furthering my knowledge of nutrition and exercise, all preferably on a beautiful beach somewhere.
Brain STAR Lab Coordinator
Hey there! My name is Jen Atkins, ABL Lab Coordinator. My family has lived in Rappahannock County for many generations. I attended our ES and graduated from our HS in 1991. I truly love the small town feel and the fact that we all know and take care of one another. I've worked at our ES for about 10 years. I began subbing, and was then hired to work in Kindergarten. I've worked with all grades and even a little at the HS and in IT. I was our school's first contracted permanent rotating sub until I was offered the position in our new ABL Lab. Classes began for our new Lab after Winter Break 2017, and I'm super excited to be a full time Exploratory class this year for all our students, Pre-K through 7th grades!
I love spending time with my husband of 25 years, Mike, my kids, Jordan and Ryan, and my 8 energetic dogs!! Family is Love!! I enjoy working with the students, staff and administration at our schools. My biggest wish is for all students to be healthy, active, happy and feel loved!! I hope to one day retire to North Myrtle Beach, SC or at least somewhere tropical!
